The Travel by Australians: June 2009 Quarterly results of the National Visitor Survey report confirms the challenging environment for tourism in the June Quarter 2009.
The report reveals that in the June quarter 2009 overnight trips for holiday purposes posted a 2% decline, visitor nights increased 3%, and there was an 8% decline in overnight spend compared to the June 2008 quarter.
SCAM: Nigerian Money Transfer – directed at Australian Travel and Tourism Operators
OVERVIEW: They may be looking to make a fake booking with the intention to:
a. make you an overpayment on stolen visa and then ask for rebate of difference via Western Union money transfer
b. requests upfront commission
c. make payment on stolen visa and cancel the booking after you have processed it. Then demand a refund – via Western Union.

The Great Ocean Road National Landscape starts at Geelong and finishes in Portland. It covers 243 kilometres. Work started on the Great Ocean Road on 19 September 1919. The 75-kilometre stretch between Anglesea and Apollo Bay was completed in 1932.
